While one of the brightest spots in the travel industry has been the enormous growth of the $15 billion cruise industry, it has caused traffic jams in some Caribbean islands, according to the Wall Street Journal. One of the advantages of renting a vacation villa on one of the islands is that they tend to be out of the flow of traffic from cruise ship crowds. Many are located on islands or areas of islands never frequented by cruise ship passengers. For vacation rental owners with Caribbean properties, this should be a good selling point for attracting guests.
